Sumpah Pemuda

Sumpah Pemuda is authentic evidence that on 28 October 1928 the Indonesian nation was born, therefore it should have all the Indonesian people commemorate the momentum of 28 October as a day of birth of the Indonesian nation, the birth of the Indonesian nation is the fruit of the struggle of people oppressed for hundreds of years under the authority of the colonialists at the time, conditions of oppression is what then encouraged the youth at that time to resolve to appoint Dignity of People Living Indonesian Original, determination that is the commitment of the Indonesian people struggle to successfully achieve its independence 17 years later ie on 17 August 1945.

Kongres Pemuda Indonesia
Kongres Pemuda Indonesia I held in Jakarta, 30 April-2 May 1926. At the congress, they discuss the importance of national unity for the struggle for independence. People involved
Many leaders who participated in the Kongres Pemuda Indonesia I and II. They came representing various youth organizations that exist at that time. Among them there are an administrator, such as Soegondo Djojopoespito of Student-Student Association of Indonesia (GN) as a chairman and his deputy, RM Djoko Marsaid (Jong Java).

While Mohammad Yamin of Jong Sumateranen Bond as secretary and the treasurer is Amin Sjarifuddin (Jong Bataks Bond). They also assisted Djohan Mohammad Tjai (Jong Islamieten Bond), R Katja Soengkana (Young Indonesia), Senduk (Jong Celebes), John Leimena (Jong Ambon) and Rochjani Soe'oed (Youth The Betawi).

Sumpah Pemuda was later became a powerful weapon to wrest independence from colonial hands. In the spirit of national unity, awareness of Indonesian youth are increasingly powerful at that time because they do not fend for themselves. So no wonder, Sumpah Pemuda is one of Indonesia's independence milestone.
