The formulation of the Sumpah Pemuda was written Moehammad Yamin on a paper when Mr. Sunario, as a messenger of scouting the middle of a speech at the last session of Congress. Oath was originally read by Soegondo and then explained at length by Yamin.

Kongres Pemuda Indonesia I held in Jakarta, 30 April-2 May 1926. At the congress, they discuss the importance of national unity for the struggle for independence. At 27 to 28 October 1928, Kongres Pemuda Indonesia II held back and right on 28 October, all participants read the moment historic Sumpah Pemuda which is designated as a Sumpah Pemuda Day.

Sumpah Pemuda was later became a powerful weapon to wrest independence from colonial hands. In the spirit of national unity, awareness of Indonesian youth are increasingly powerful at that time because they do not fend for themselves.
